Alan Cohen, MBA and certified professional coach has more than 25 years of experience in business, in fields including public relations, marketing, human resources, training, and development. As a career and leadership coach, Alan works with executives to help them better navigate the changes in their businesses, and to achieve greater professional success and fulfillment. He is President of ACTS OF BALANCE Coaching, a NY-based firm.

Most recently. he servied as the director of communications for the Broadway League, the national trade association for the commercial theatre industry. He was a director of corporate training and development for Scholastic Inc., the international children’s media company, as well as the company’s director of publicity, where he served as a member of the marketing team for the phenomenally successful Harry Potter book series. At Serino Coyne, and Rogers and Cowan public relations firms, he supervised public relations and cultural sponsorship activities, and worked with many arts organizations nationwide. At Robinson Lerer Montgomery, where he served as vice president, he was responsible for consumer publicity campaigns for United Airlines and AOL, spearheading the launch of AOL’s Find A Job service.

Mr. Cohen holds a B.A. in English and Theatre from Connecticut College, and an MBA from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business, where his focus was leadership development. He received his professional coach training from iPEC, the Institute for Professional Empowerment Coaching. He works regularly with The Ladders.com, the Web’s premier job-seeking site, through which he offers interview-prep coaching, and “webinars” reaching thousands of job-seekers at a time.

Allan Fried is a New York City based career coach working with accomplished professionals focusing on getting paid well for doing work they love. Allan has been described by his clients as “talented, Zen-like, and passionate.” They attribute their many successes to his intuitive ability in helping them discover and leverage their natural strengths.
Prior to becoming a coach, Mr. Fried spent almost 20 years as an executive and entrepreneur in the music business. Starting in the mailroom of ICM (International Creative Management), he worked his way up the ranks to vice president international at the major record label BMG, where he guided the careers of multi-platinum recording artists. Sensing the coming impact of technology on the music business, he joined the pioneering digital entertainment company Knitmedia as COO, before launching his own entertainment marketing firm. Mr. Fried did his coach training at NYU’s Coach Training Program and Coachville’s Graduate School of Coaching, where he is also an instructor and part of the Member Services Team. He holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland.
